  | | | Local Database Access | Local Database Access 2004-03-09 - By Jesse Warden
Back Working on a project to dynamically showcase a lot of data. After looking at how it's presented, a lot of it appears already in table format, ripe for being factored into some form of database.
For a deliverable, this doesn't have to be the case, the goal is to show the dynamic display of that data. I can knock that out of the park, twice on Sundays with just XML for the delivery date.
However, I want options for future iterations. Currently, we could install a local webserver since we have control of the machine, as well as PHP/ASP/ColdFusion, etc. and setup either an Access or mySQL database.
However, is the need of middle-ware and a web-server really needed? What other ways can I connect to a database? I own Screenweaver if he has any DLL's or internal functionality that I don't know about yet.
Thanks in advance for options beyond the above.
