Back I've seen a few issues almost like this , but not quite. Here goes. I am building a screenweaver desktop app (chat client) and would like to do binary (jpg) file transfers. I've included a uuencoding utility and can grab the file and convert it to text data to send it out (the server can do the uudecode on the other end - no browser). But loadVars and xMLSocket both seem flaky; Flash's hard-wired url-encoded POST method is a real pain in the butt. Anyone have any experiences? Is there a limit to the amount of data sent in one POST or XML packet? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
