audio and video through firewire

audio and video through firewire

Hi

Has anyone tried using a digital video camera with a
flash comm app that records audio and video? I am
doing some testing with different cameras and
connection types for a project.

I connected a canon GL1 camera through firewire to
both a PC and a MAC. The video was displayed nicely
and recorded well through the flash comm app. The
audio did not come through at all on the mac and
completely garbled through the pc. I also tried using
a headset mike with firewire on the pc and that did
not work. My flash comm app works well with a web cam
and headset microphone.

Are there any settings I need to change on the OS side
or can one program from the flash comm side, a dialog
box that would tell from what source to pick the audio
and video from?

Thanks

Ismael
