sytax error

I'm sure it was not the goal of Macromedia to make cryptic compile-error
messages.  The problem is that, when checking syntax, it's hard for the
compiler to guess what you meant to say.

The day when we can make computers "do what I mean, not what I say" is when
AI is going to take over the world, Matrix-style.

To the compiler, it sees an indentifier, and a dot, then it's expecting an
identifier but it gets a number instead.  To the compiler, this is a syntax
error, and it reports it as such.  However, the error message could probably
be re-written to say "Syntax error on line X at position X: received a
number where an identifier was expected."

I'd venture to guess that the next version of Flash will have better error
messages from the compiler.

I know, but I had forgoten that, so it's easy to blame flash :)

but it shoud probably have a better error description than simply *sytax
