The syntax errors are very misleading, and one should never waste their time
reading more than one.

Fix the first one, and then test again.  Sometimes you'll get 15 errors, fix
the first one, and then get none.  Sometimes you'll get errors for syntax,
when it's really something else.

error*, is that hard to bloat flash a little more to add a

change that bro

Don't blame Flash, blame JavaScript, upon which ActionScript is
modeled...JIT compilers expect certain types of syntax. Numbers are
implicitly treated as numbers by the compiler (which makes sense), so
numbers should never be used to lead off character strings. This is true for
many, many programming languages.

damn flash

it was that, and it did solve a lot of problem, but it creates 65 more ( 65
menu itens that I will have to rename )only happier that only 2 of them
contain code

Don't name instances starting with numbers.  Flash doesn't like that too
much.

can anyone help me out here, I'm having these sytax errors going for me all
morning, it looks like I can't access anything outside the movieclip
timeline

this is the error


**Error** Scene=conteudo, layer=Layer 158, frame=1:Line 1: Syntax error.
    this.menu_mc.01_01_01_mc.gotoAndPlay("click");

and the code is only these line

( that is on the _root )


what should I look for here ?
my publish setting are flash 6 as 1
