AMFPHP today? Why so little activity?

AMFPHP today? Why so little activity?

As I'll be writing an application where some couples of floats are
being sent from server to client I'm very interested in Remoting and
especially the free AMFPHP due to PHP. I read a lot about it but
there's really little information about AMFPHP TODAY. And that's my
first question:

What is going on with AMFPHP today? Is there any new development being
done? Is the whole thing about being legal and being recommended (at
all) for real world application going to be resolved any time soon?

I'm asking all this because I hear/read so little about these things in
different forums. There's no news since several months on the official
AMFPHP-site and there are really very few people in forums talking
about this and discussing issues beyond installing and
first-step-problems. Why is that? What are the reasons? Should I forget
about AMFPHP?

I hope some of you can help me??thanks.
