Back I can't think of a better subject line for what I want to do, so I apologize. What I am trying to do is create a "screen cover" which would be a button mc with about a 50% alpha. This screen cover would have a mask layer that would actually provide a window to the layers below. I'm actually trying to highlight a section of the screen and restrict access and visual focus on the rest of the screen, though I want it to be faded out. Doing a screen cover was the only way I could think of doing this, but I don't know how to "invert" the properties of the mask to where everything OUTSIDE of the rectangle box I draw will be visible (the screen cover). Does this make sense? Any ideas? Thanks!
