Extreme case: recording lan quality using modem speed 2004-02-25 - By Martin Fleck
Back
hello flashcomm-folk,
testing some extreme (!) cases here, i wanted to record a video with best quality using modem speed. This should be possible, when using a huge buffertime.
video settings (lan):
cam.setMode (320, 240, 15); cam.setQuality (0, 95); cam.setKeyFrameInterval (5);
modem speed:
5000 bytes per seconds
stream bufferTime: 30 seconds
video record length 30 seconds
When stopping the record, the buffer is immediately empty. The video stops after ~3 seconds when replaying, because the buffered video was not saved. What is wrong here?
Testing the same case with a buffertime of 5 seconds and increasing the buffertime by 5 seconds when the "BufferFull"-notify arrives. After stopping the record, it needs a long time to clean the buffer. When replaying the video everything was recorded in good quality.
