FLV or SWF?

The subject line says it all. I have two projects at the moment that
deal with a large number of videos, which are destined to be
displayed in Flash movies.

One is a kiosk, and the other is a Web project.

I would like to know if there is an advantage to using the FLV
format, and, if so, what it is?
