Back Ok, never mind us, we got it. I can explain in detail what it was if anybody cares, but it has to do with running several sub domains on the same box, etc.
Thanks BK

Christian,
We are running CF MX on Win 2K, it's the latest version of CF MX 6,1,0,63958, if I change the gateway url to a CFC on my dev server it works like a champ, the Dev server matches the production server in just about everyway except that it's not behind a firewall. I.e. they are both Win2K, and both running the same version of CF MX, the only thing that differs is the path structure to the CFC on the dev server and the production server.
>From the dev IDE, we can connect to either server just fine, but if we try via the embedded it blows chunks... =(
What other information can I give?
We just changed the embed tag to use <PARAM NAME=flashvars VALUE="gatewayUrl=http://localhost:8500/ flashservices/gateway"> and FLASHVARS="gatewayUrl=http://localhost:8500/flashservices/gateway"
With our real server info replaced of course... That did not work, it's being passed in. We have a little debugging window built into the app and we trace out all the incoming var's and we see it and it's correct. But the embedded version does not work. Very strange...
Thanks, Bill K.

Hi Bill I don't think the firewall has to do anything in this. We have our production server behind one also, and the calls from the ide or from a navigator, or from the cfmx box itself has never produced this effect... The really strange thing is when you call flashservices/gateway from the cfmx box and get back a 404. Here i don't understand. Can you give more details about your config (os, etc.) ? Hard week end in perspective :( Christian

Hello,
This is my first post here, I have strange question.
We are working on a Flash to CF MX remoting application and when we attach to the CF MX server over the internet via remoting from with in the flash development environment it attaches and does it's thing just fine. However when we embed the SWF on the CF MX server that we are calling, and then load up the web page, it does not work. The connection or call fails. The CF MX server is behind a firewall and when we call it from the dev IDE, we are outside of that firewall, but my understanding is that when we load up the SWF page that the SWF would be also calling it from outside of the firewall too right? I can call http://domainname.com/flashservices/gateway from outside the firewall just fine, however if I take that exact same URL and call it from the CF MX machine inside the firewall it comes back with a page not found. Does the Firewall have anything to do with the embedded SWF not being able to connect due to the fact that the embedded SWF is being called from and lives on the same machine behind the firewall?
Thanks, sorry about the off topic, but this is supposed to be live on Monday... :S
