Best way to employ tunneling?

Best way to employ tunneling?

I recently switched from FCS 1.0 to FCS 1.5 so that my application could
take advantage of http tunneling.  I wanted to get the greatest degree of
success in connecting Flash clients to the FCS server (naturally).

So far I have had several complaints from users that can't connect anymore,
which leads me to believe that I am not using the RTMPT protocal
effectively.

My swf makes one attempt to connect like this:
nc.connect( "rtmpt://flashteam.macromedia.com/myapp");

I have seen several examples where the connection specifies a port,or two
connection attempts (rtmp then rtmpt).  Can anyone tell me the best case
scenario for making the connection with the greatest degree of success?
