Back Hopefully this is simple and my brain 's just not clicking.
We need to use flash remoting to connect to a lot of services.
We recently did a server upgrade and our servlet context changed.
This meant that every flash app that had:
NetServices.setDefaultGatewayUrl( "http://myserver/mycontext/gateway ");
Had to be updated and recompiled. Yuck.
What I 'd like to do is just compile a swf with the NetServices libraries and
the above line, and then just include them from a web URL in our flash
movies. This way if we need to change context again, we just have to
recompile 1 swf.
I 've tried doing this and setting: _global.gatewayConnection =
NetServices.createGatewayConnection();
In the connector swf, but I can 't get a handle to _global.gatewayConnection
in the calling app.
I 've tried using a runtime shared library and simply doing a loadMovie() but
neither seem to work.
Does anyone know how I can make this (or something similar) work??
Thanks!
