Gday all, I'm looking for the general consensus on which is the best platform to host an FCS server.
I had been heading for a stock Windows Server 2003, but the continued vulnerabilities and virii are steering me away.
Is Red Hat an option that compares well? Which version? I'm really after reliability as it will be for an un-funded community site that can't afford time and effort reacting to platform foibles.
Are non-intel versions available yet? When I first investigated FCS they were intending to do a telco Solaris (and MacOSX) version too. Any news here? An Xserv version would rock.
thanks everyone for a fantastic, educational list.
