IFRAMEs could work for you if you're limiting your application to just Internet Explorer 5.5+ and/or the Mozilla family of browsers (a.k.a. Netscape 6+). Note that Javascript will need to be enabled for things to work, though some users will have this turned off to avoid pop-up ads. Just be sure to test your code on the Macintosh version of IE as well, it's somewhat different from the Windows versions.
