I am connecting in the browser with from my machine (on which the server is running), and from PC 's and MACS on the same network.
The flash movie is hosted on a seperate web server from the multiuser server on the same internal network.

The crossdomain.xml that is loaded from the web server on the multiuser server is loose:-
<?xml version= "1.0 "? >
<cross-domain-policy >
<allow-access-from domain= "132.147.160.9 "/ >
<allow-access-from domain= "*.pilotinteractive.co.uk "/ >
<allow-access-from domain= "*.redsquareworld.com "/ >
<allow-access-from domain= "*.redsquarepool.com "/ >
</cross-domain-policy >
However my interpretation of the MM docs is that this file is not relevant to socket connections < 1024
