Back Paul,
You say the flashmovie connects without a policy file -- do you mean
when you open the SWF on your location machine? If so, then that 's
running in the stand alone flash player (like a projector) which isn 't
restricted to the crossdomain stuff..
I 've done extensive testing with this process (for Unity though) and
have only seen this behavior as you describe as above.. when opened in a
browser the flashplayer won 't let it connect unless a policy file is
served, which allows it...
Is it possible you are defining your crossdomain.xml too loosely?
