Gibberish instead of links

Gibberish instead of links

Hi,

I am new to this list.

I have created a Flash movie in MX (Mac, OS X 10.2.8).
On the last page I included some links: a link to a web page and an
email link.
The links work fine on my Mac and on my Windows XP machine.

The person I sent it to says that the page with the links contains
"gibberish", strange groups of letters & numbers where the links should
be. The rest of the movie plays fine. They are running Mac OS 9.

So I exported the movie to be compatible with Flash 5. Same story.
So I exported the movie to be compatible with Flash 4. Gibberish gone,
but the links don't work.
So I told them to upgrade their Flash Player.
They went to the Macromedia site and upgraded.
Still gibberish on the movie exported to be compatible with Flash 5.

Can anyone explain to me what is wrong and what I might do to solve it
and convince them that their clients won't experience the same problem?

Thanks,

Carl
