Back Am I missing something or is it exceedingly yucky and difficult to have a
button component with an icon that responds to changes in the button 's state
(up, down, over, disabled, etc.)
// works perfectly but the icons should
// *not* be part of the skin (they should be
// instance properties) or, even better, the
// button should call handlers on a single icon object
// for the up, down, over, disabled, etc. states
var initObject = new Object();
initObject.falseUpIcon = "up ";
initObject.falseDownIcon = "down ";
initObject.falseOverIcon = "over ";
initObject.label = "blah blah ";
createClassObject(mx.controls.Button, "ButtonInstance ", 0, initObject);
// a is a button that already exists on stage
a.falseOverIcon = "over "; // doesn 't work
a.falseUpIcon = "up "; // works
a.falseDownIcon = "down "; // works
Thoughts?
