If you add a skin to your video it has the player controls and shows a
progress bar as the movie loads. It doesn't give a percentage, but you can
certaibly tell that something is happening. While it is buffering the bar
shows animated diagonal lines to indictate something is happening.

Are downloading the entire video before it plays or using prgressive
download? WIth progressive download you can set the buffer time. 5 sec is
typical, then they see the movie earlier.
