Sad though it is to reply to one's own post, I thought I'd better apologise
since it appears
that the fault with the decompression of the download lies with having a newer
version of
Stuffit Expander than is currently bundled with the new iMacs.
So, If you're having problems, download the latest Stuffit Expander and use
that to
decompress the .sit file.
Hope that helps someone (makes me feel a bit thick though).
