Ah, now THAT is of interest!  Digital models are usually a dead givaway
where water meets shore, the transition isn't convincing and yours is.

Thanks. All the plants are made in Carrara 5 Pro, no Hex. After I
take pics of leaves, I figure I can make 4 or 5 new plants in an
hour. See this tutorial at Polyloop:

http://forums.polyloop.net/showthread.php?t=5835

I also made some clumps of grass using Anything Grows and saved
several different ones that I use. I use the fast transluceny on all
the plants.

Some people asked about the Terrain Tools and GeoControl. GeoControl
is strictly for modeling terrains. All my scenes could have been
done with the terrain generator in Carrara, but GeoControl makes it
quicker and easier. Terrain Tools is a plugin in the Beta stage from
Digital Carvers Guild. I use it for the water shader. It is very
cool and detects the intersection of the water plane and the
terrain. Then it generates an Anything Goos type of shader along the
edge of the water. I use that in the color channel and the
transparency channel to simulate wave froth or pond scum and also to
simulate depth by falling off the transparency from the edge.
