Hi Auggy,

Ahhhh, it is video animation you are wanting. :)  When I read the word
"Photoshop" in one of your previous "Reflections" posts, I immediately
thought you were referring to a still, rather than an animated clip. :)

But there is still a fairly simple way to achieve this in video
animation.  You would have to use a traveling matte, plus a plugin
that will help with only shadow casting, such as Shoestring Shaders
"Shadow Pass", to pull this off -
<http://www.des-web.net/html/shadow_pass.html>.

Basically, Carrara doesn't have a direct way of creating a traveling
matte [ something to add to the wish list ;) ], However, I was able to
create one with using either the Gouraud or Sketch Draft render mode.
What I did was simply isolate the Frame object by turning it on as
the only visible object in the scene.  Then I used an all-white shader
to shade it (background/backdrop was turned to "none").  After that,
in After Effects I tweaked the traveling matte until I got full black
and white values (Frame object=white, background/backdrop=black).
Then I used that as a traveling matte over a color version of the
animated Frame that I rendered earlier.  I then mixed those layers
with the clip of just the logo and its reflection on the floor plane,
which also included the shadow of the logo and shadow of the frame
(used Shadow Pass plugin to isolate the Frame object's shadow).  Here
is the result:

AVI Clip of Logo and Frame, with Logo Reflection Only (DIVX Codec Used

Once you decide which object you need to isolate as a matte, it is
really not a difficult process to setup and it is fairly quick.  I am
pretty sure that you will be able to do the same thing in Vegas that I
did in After Effects.  However, if you have any questions about the
process, just let me know. :)

Well, hope that helped some.

Cheers.
