Hmm, it is just sad how paranoid we have all become.  :+/

I keep saying I'm going to gather up my stuff, but never get around to  it.  
I have the serial numbers written inside the front cover of each  manual
(assuming I have a hard copy).  Another reason I like the real thing  versus a
PDF.
