Need my serial #!

Need my serial #!

Holy moly Ted, you can't lose that one... I have mine backed up in an
excel document on 3 different client machines, a backend server and a
thumb drive that sits in my room doing nothing more than storing
software codes and passwords. The code is not anywhere inside the disk
or anything, it's a sticker on the jewel case that it came with. If you
registered it then Bob can have someone retrieve the serial for you, but
it takes them some time to do it because it's all in an encrypted
database on their backend servers. If you didn't register it, they have
no easy way to tell that you actually own it or get you the serial
number. :\

I can't tell you how many times I've gone through this (not with Carrara
luckily) because I have a lot of machines and copies of Office 2003, and
server software and Adobe and plug-ins and Macromedia and SQL 2000
passwords all sorts of other crap. I finally took a whole day a couple
of years back and got an excel document ready and put every single
serial number and software password and stuff all in one place and then
put it in 3 different physical locations just to be sure it didn't burn
down or anything. I just update it religiously now every time I get a
new software piece.

I hope someday the need for software codes and passwords and stuff goes
away, I really think it bites and it would be cool to log into one place
to get all of your info stored and translated for all of your stuff..
Hmm... Maybe an idea for a new internet company, erm... A virtual safe
deposit box: "Authentisign". ;)

A place where all of your software is registered and enabled and
authenticated and initialized and passwords stored and retrieved and
codes and crap all in one place.

If you can't find it, send Bob an email and when you get it, make a
master sheet of all your serial numbers and stuff.

Good luck,

Steven

Subject: [Carrara] Need my serial #!

Hey all,
I'm trying to upgrade my version of Carrara and I can't download the
thing
without my version 3 serial # and I can't find it.
Someone once said it could be found on the application cd in some
folder or other, if this is true please let me know asap! Or let me
know
how to get a hold of it from some other source!
Thanks
Ted
