Not sure what's available on the Windows side as far  viewing options
go, but on Macs there is a system preference pane call  Universal
Access. It allows you to customize your display all the way to  pure
black and white, reverse color, etc. Also there's a really great  
built-in voice recognition  system.





I echo the inspiration part!  Also, I have a Microsoft mouse (I'm sure  a lot
of the other brands do this) in which the left side button is a magnifier  
and magnifies whatever is on the screen beneath the mouse.  You just click  it
once and it is activated and then clicking it again, turns it  off.
