Back This version has a PDF manual - which is great. I need to purchase a 3D program soon to make some furniture and houseware (glassware, bowls, trays) models. I tried Strata and it did not work right. Not as sophisticated as Carrara. When I tried to subtract one solid from another it messed up.
I have a half cross-section of a bowl that I drew in Illustrator. I want to import it into Carrara and rotate it 360 degrees to make the bowl. Is this a Spline or Vertex object? I don't know what I'm looking for. When I import it, Carrara extruds my cross-section. I think I'm not getting the cross-section onto the correct plane.
Do I need to just have a cross section and rotate 180 degrees or can you have a half cross- section and rotate it 360 degrees?
Are there basic tutorials out there somewhere where this is explained?
I want to try and make some sample objects before committing to purchasing.
thanks,
r.
