Back I just did some upgrades to my computer and for some reason I just don't think I'm getting the maximum performance from it that I can. I've got an Amd +3000 with 2gb of 400 mghz memory running in dual channel and an Asus x800 Pro AGP graphics card w/256 mb of memory.
Crazy thing is, I upgraded from a geForce2 mx 400 w/64 mb of video memory and only 1 gb of system memory and I don't see any significant change in graphics...refresh rates, etc. I did add a 19" BenQ monitor that I run at a higher resolution than my old 17" flatscreen, but I really expected more performance. I've downloaded and installed the latest release of Asus' driver for this card, so what gives?
Is there any free testing software that I can download to see if my suspicions are correct. Anybody on the list know something about optimizing PC's that they could share?
