If so, I suggest using what you have for the time being and see how you need to increase your computer as your needs develop. If you use texture maps heavily, a RAM upgrade would be good. If you have million+ polygon models, then a powerful video card is needed (for in progress work). If you are rendering very large, very intensive, movies, or complicated math (like HDRI lighting) then you might consider getting numerous cheaper machines and creating your own render farm.
Carrara Pro gives you the ability to make a 5 machine render farm, so this is something to consider.
