I have TrueSpace 6.6, I've been on the upgrade path since ver. 3. I
switched to Carrara mainly because the real time renderer is so damm slow in
TS. (in my experience). I have a moderately fast system but still it dogs
along with even a moderately complex model. Say a poser figure or
something. And when point editing it is even worse. Carrara on the other
hand handles relatively complex models with fast real time feedback. Also
it has what I think is the fastest renderer of any app I have tried. I do
like TS that's why I keep upgrading hoping the speed will improve. Now
with the new version 7 the speed is suppose to have increased by 10 x. The
real time rendering is suppose to be very fast and near photorealistic
quality. But they didn't improve the character tools and so I'm hesitant
to upgrade until I see what they do to improve that. The next upgrade ver.
7.1 due out in 6 mo. is suppose to have new char. animation features.
I like CS's shader features much better than TS. Also although TS has
shader libraries it doesn't have any list of current shaders in use, or for
shader domains. Of course this comparison list could be very big, but those
or some of the major things for me.
