Also, be aware of limitations of using sounds in Carrara animations. I have
not done one for many months but only one movie output format includes
sounds and if you want any sound overlaps on multiple layers...well I could
not make it happen all in Carrara so aligned music sounds and timing in NLE
like Adobe Premiere or similar.

Carrara is handy at getting a reasonable idea for sounds but not for final
render to file. Carrara allows for slider control to hear sounds for start
time code and play length tho.

I have no knowledge of CS5 but have not seen any advertised audio
improvements over CS4pro which I use.

Subject: ot/sound editing software
Hi,
I have been researching some sound editing software to use in conjunction
with Carrara and am still a bit new at this part of the software. I found a
program called Audacity 1.2.3. and its open source and seems to do a pretty
good job at cutting and pasting bits and pieces of sound and saving them as
wav files, but I'd still like to get some feedback from anyone who has maybe
found something better and also am curious if the sound in C5 is more or
less the same as C4-P or if it has by chance seen any new development as
well.
Thanks,
Steven
