Considering that they put a lot of Hexagon's functionality into the
vertex modeler, I can't see that happening. You should be able to
model just about anything now in Carrara. Hexagon just has a more
robust set of tools and a faster workflow. For people who model a
lot more than the average person, a faster standalone modeler makes
sense.

What are these "good old days" you're talking about? Seems like in
terms of 3D these days are a lot better and less expensive.
