Back Hi Eric,
I'm just getting back to my emails for the day....
Thanks for passing along the chart and your file. I think that in some respects the chart can be translated into measurements that are practical for the 3D world, but I have to check into that and see what I can find.
It's interesting that you used a "tripod" object to mount your cameras. I basically grouped my cameras, but made sure that they were perpendicular along the x and y planes first to save the headache when it came time to either move them further apart of closer in, or rotate them in various positions.
As far as parallel vs. convergent, I believe that parallel is the way to go here. For my experiments I am looking at real stereo cameras to see how they are set up and then trying to mimic them. From what I can tell, their lenses are parralel, not convergent to the subject(s) they are photographing.
I still need to do more experimenting, myself. Eric, did you post any images yet because I couldn't find the link(s) anywhere (I access the list from the Yahoo Groups web site forum). If you do have some, could you please post them when you get a chance? Thanks.
Well, that's all for now. I hope to have some new images to post soon, as well.
Cheers.
