ANAGLYPH 3D Imaging Testing Continued...

Hi Eric, All,

Okay, here is what I discovered so far...it doesn't seem that highly
reflective surfaces are friendly to anaglyphs because they actual show
up as a reflective glare in the final image (however, there is no
glare on either the left or right image plates).

Also, toning down the red and blue hues do seem to help with making
the object more aceptable as far as seeing them through 3D glasses.

Distance does seem to play a factor with object placement, although I
can't determine right now if it is the depth rather than the
left-to-right positioning that is causing the poor parallaxing (or
perhaps a combination of both?).   More tests are needed.

In the two images below, you will notice that there is a humongous
sphere towards the back-right portion of the image.  That sphere is
actually about 331 inches in diameter versus the other spheres which
are roughly 9-42 inches in diameter. It is also placed about 300
inches farther than the nearest object.  But this was all done with a
normal (default) camera lens.  I'll try to experiment with a wider
lens to see if that will make any difference.  But I can't do it
tonight (well, today actually) because I have to hit the hay for now. ;)

Btw, do any of these two images look better to you?  One was done in
Anamaker and the other in AnaBuilder.  Anabuilder has more bells and
whistles by far, but I don't know if I like seeing the hatch hairs
while I am registring the images.  Also it does have a bug in it where
it does not empty the last image settings before loading another
image, even when the restart button is used.  I had to restart the
program several times to erase the configs. :(

One thing is that I think my image registration process will go more
smoothly with real plastic 3D glasses.  I still can't see all that
well with cardboard ones I am using.

Well, happy viewing. :)

Cheers.
