Re: Seeking Advice on Poser (transparency from DS in C5?)

2005-11-17       - By Glen Allen

 Back
Hiya,

I couldn't get figures out of DAS Studio without having the old
transparency issues with Poser figures (pre Transposer and C5).  I tried
exporting them from DS as OBJ - they import to C5 fine except for the
transparencies.  To be fair, DS says it's OBJ for Bryce in the export
options.  Any chance for the import of OBJ in C5 to have an option to
handle this oddity for transparency?  Perhaps a checkbox with "Invert
transparency" or something?

OT:  In case anyone is interested, SR2 for Poser 6 is now available, as
is an update for missing clothing textures from the initial release.

Cheers,

Glen

Wow - is getting animations out of D|S for use in Carrara
problematic? This would be a deal-breaker for me. Poser 5 is looking
like my best option, based on the responses I've read so far. Guess
it can't hurt to try D|S, since it's a freebie - but I'd prefer to
struggle as little as possible, with an already-complex process (aka,
it's probably worth the $ for Poser 5).

Everyone's comments have been really helpful, thanks again-
