I did something similar with a keyboard shortcuts card and also I offer this
idea which helped me...
I made an excel spreadsheet (could be an outline but excel can sort easier)
with all the functions, grouped by what they do and by type
(vertex,line,face,object, surface,selection,utilities,view,etc), then for
each type; what the name is, what it does, and  the keyboard and/or menu
place to actuate and any special notes on sequence, tips, cautions etc.
I printed it and keep it handy for ref. Faster to lookup than a book or
.pdf.

Eventually only infrequently used tools are looked up. Or if I need to do
something and not sure how, I'll look at the tool list as opportunities and
plan an approach and which tools to use...then find them on the GUI.

In a similar vein, for Carrara, I have so many plugins and some being eyed
for purchase, I have all known plugins listed, what they do, tips, etc and
whether I purchased or not. So if I have an idea to do something I can
review the list for ideas for myself on what tools to use...and more
importantly what is available as I can't always remember all the functions
of every plugin.

I am glad I stuck with Hex after a grueling day. It's getting easier the
more I learn about
the tools and the shortcuts. For those of you still struggling with the
switch, the single
most helpful thing (besides this list) was printing a full keyboard-size
shortcut and taping
it on my desk just below the keyboard.
