Correct. Many 3D, as well as compositing and 2D apps implement scripting in different ways. And procedural animation does not necessarily require scripting. Cinema 4D's Xpresso enables procedural animation without any scripting at all.
It may be an open question to the developers as to whether or not procedural animation is important to Carrara's market.
Its been a long, long time since I've looked at carrara, and I'm seeing some very nice work. I also appreciate that someone can easily acquire a base package and move up to the higher end. However, I haven't seen many examples of animation. Is there a good collection somewhere. I googled for some but didn't find many.
