Hi Orio,
May I recommend that you check out the new Shadow Pass shader which is part of the Shoestring shader Suite? It helps with creating a separate shadow pass w/o seeing the object. So how I use this plugin is like what I have done in the past in C4D: I set the background receiving the shadow to a white-ish color, enable the shadow pass shader on the object, and render that out as the shadow pass. Then, in AE, I multiply the shadow pass underneath the object layer and tweak values where needed.
