It depends on how "experimental" you're willing to be. If you're trying to
match a very
specific look and effect that exists only in your mind, you may get frustrated.
But that's
true with any software... If you're flexible and willing to experiment with the
software,
Carrara is very easy to get started and you should get good results fast,
especially since it
doesn't sound like you'd be doing too much modeling.
