Ok. Simply put, ALL features from Hexagon is missing from C5, except
for about 12 things and a handful of new selection abilites.
There isn't really a comparsion between them. I know the hype is that
Carrara has gotten some technologies form Hexagon, but it doesn't make
Carrara anywhere near as capable as Hex for modeling when you actually
use them side by side.
C5's VM is slow. The same model in Carrara can be made in 20 minutes
veruses less than 5 minutes in Hexagon. Hexagon is a deicated
modeler. It's advances are to the end of making models faster than
anything else, whereas Carrara is a general purpose tool that advances
in shading, rendering, assembly, physics, new modeling rooms and
lastly some modeling.
The VM is good for minor tweeks or simple objects, but it's not "that"
powerful. While you can make good object with it, you could have
still made good objects with C2's modeling tools... it just takes more
work.
