Your informatin is incorrect.  The upgrade from CS3 to C4 Pro was $199 for
the physical version, and $189 for the electronic download version.  For C4
Standard, the prices were $129 and $119, respectively.

The new upgrade prices are $169 for Carrara 5 Pro from C4 Pro (both
electronic and physical) and $99 for Carrara 5 from Carrara 4 Standard.

This decision was made so that purchasers of both the electronic and
physical versions will have the ability to acquire a printed manual if they
so choose.

Thanksfor the answer Bob. If I recall correctly (and I believe I do) the
upgrade from 3 to 4
(physical) cost the same $169 and included a printed manual. To make us pay
the same
upgrade price and the on top of it pay extra for a manual seems like a rip
off. (just one
guy's opinion though I doubt I'm alone in this thinking) With the extreme
changes to the
interface it seems a manual is definitely warrented. PDFs just don't cut it.
When I bought
my car they didn't charge me any extra for the owner's manual.
