Back Arnaud, following our discussion on quads containing alpha-masked trees and then using the Replicator, I found that you can in fact make the 'trees' face the camera no matter where in the scene the camera is placed amongst the trees. I just used the Modifier named 'Point At' on the quad polygon, and pointed it at the camera.
During animated rendering, the polygons generated by the Replicator are rearranged so that each 'tree' faces the camera.
Sweet. That right there alone was worth $99 for upgrading ;-)
