I don't know if  CS5 will have  symmetricial option like in Hexagon

but in case you are interested :

Digital Carver's  guild has a symettrical plug in for Carrara 3 and 4, called
Project Gemini.

And they always update their plugins for later versions of Carrara

maybe you can get this and get the update once it is avialable.
