Hello fellow Carrara users,

I am pleased to announce that the Thomson Publishing (formerly
Charles River Media) will be releasing The Carrara 5 Professional
Handbook late this year or early next year (January).

As with the Carrara Studio 3 Handbook the Carrara 5 Professional
Handbook will feature initial chapters that cover modeling,
texturing and animation concepts. In addition, there will be
chapters that help get you acquainted with Carrara's new interface.

The Carrara 5 Professional Book will cover modeling extensibly with
the Spline Modeler, Vertex Modeler, and include bonus tutorials on
modeling with Hexagon.

Following the modeling tutorials The Carrara 5 Professional Handbook
will cover UV mapping, shaders and advanced shaders such as,
displacement mapping and subsurface scattering.

Next, the book will cover animation including lip-synching with
morph targets, bone rigging for walking, and BVH motion.

Rendering comes next with several tutorials covering basic and
advanced rendering techniques, such as, HDRI, caustics, NPR, and GI.

New to this edition is a section that covers Carrara and other
programs. For instance there will be a chapters that cover Carrara
and Poser, Carrara and After Effects, Carrara and Matchmover and
Carrara and Flash.

Finally, the last section will feature tutorials that cover the
Digital Carvers Guild plug-ins.

This book has taken many months of hardwork to write and it is
written by expert Carrara users, for folks just like you.

You may preorder your copy at www.charlesriver.com, or
www.amazon.com. This book will definately be a hot item as Carrara
has become a ver popular program.

Thanks,

Mike de la Flor
