I get it now. Unlike last time where Carrara 2 and 3 users could
upgrade for the same cost to Carrara 4, Carrara 3 users have to pay
more to upgrade to 5.

Or thats what it seems. If I am wrong I would rather just upgrade
direct to C5 rather than go through 4 pro first.
