Is there a way to create a shockwave (dcr) file without using Director? I
understand there is
a workaround by using a "generic" dcr file linked to an external w3d castmember
. Is this
the only way?
I would like to put a model on the web so it can be manipulated. I can't use
Viewpoint
because there is no Mac plug-in for Carrara. VRML applications all render
differently and
have a different interface, which gives very inconsistant results. I like the
quality,
consistency, cross-platform compatibility and wide install base of Shockwave.
But I don't
really want to spend $1200, especially if I'm not using any of Director's
capabilities.
