Maybe they are trying to pull off an especially big version update. With the more of more software to multi-million polygon cores and strong appearance of real-time 3D displacement (of those multi-million polygons), its not too unreasonable to assume that they are pushing their limits and trying to one-up the competition (which appears to constently be lowing their prices into Carrara's range). Maybe they are adding a painting module into the program as well. Maybe another construction program (like the tree modeler) is being added. Its anyone's guess as to what they are working on.
I doubt Hex will be included in C5 as a standard. Their probablly be a special package deal, but C5S and C5P will probably be without it. Back in the Amapi Designer days, it was never the same version that was included with Carrara. It was always at least one step behind what was currently marketed and Hexagon is still version 1 (regardless of the free updates, its the first sells release.)
