H264 for QT7 is brilliant, I use it with QT7 Pro for Windows. If your
camera flies around and then settles on a still view, H264 will
compress the motion frames and leave the still frames looking
pristine. If you have text labels in the scene, at severe compression
H264 will really crunch the gradient elements while leaving text edges
sharp.

I don't see the point of accommodating legacy QT versions when the
user is only a click away from updating for free. They ae doing
themselves a favor.

It seems that having QT7 Pro has loaded H264 into the Carrara QT
compression options, unless it was always there and I didn't notice.
Use medium quality fearlessly; in most cases you will not be
disappointed with the quality, and will be very happy at the
reasonable file size. Remember, it streams, so large file sizes are
not daunting for anyone with DSL on up.

Think about pod casting your Carrara movies on the new iPod video
version, using H264. That compression is really what has made the iPod
video a product with prospects.
