Back I assume you applied the pictures via shading domains and direct parameteric mapping to them?
You can project your images onto the surfaces of the cube, but the dividing edges between pictures is more differcult. First, you could cut out the sides and turn each of the cube's faces into it's own object. Thus with the project-mapping from the texture room, it shouldn't distort nor should it bleed into other faces (because the other faces are different objects).
Although, it may be alot easier to create one face white with others black. Render that against a black background. Repeat for each other face. Using those files as masks, you should be able to create a masking effect to a 2D picture in PhotoShop/AfterEffect or other image editing software. This will hold the picture constant no matter how the object changes.
