I'd say, go for real DVD. It's good to have it on DVD for sending out
if you are looking for job. Many companies WILL NOT VIEW ANY CD OR
DATA DVD with computer because they are afraid of viruses spreading
into their production environment. Some companies request showreels
on vhs only, even today. So, dvd is in that sense better than data
solutions. But nothing stops you from compressing it and distributing
it in web too! It's always easier to create more compressed versions
from dvd-version than the other way around.

You can easily burn it on dvd. If you buy a DVD-burner and pay a
little extra, you'll get a dvd-burning program that will burn your
clip on dvd after compressing it. Many of the cheap applications that
come with dvd-burners can even create simple menus for you. And so
will cheap video editing progams. And you are going to need one
anyway... You really can't put together a 45 minutes of animation as
a direct render... If you need fancy motion menus, then you have to
get expensive application from adobe, ulead or sony.

Your school propably has those application available anyway. Or then
you can get a cheap student licence to use them at home.

(probably a year from now for school) I will compress the whole
thing.  Is it going to fit on a DVD?  I guess it will because 2 hour
movies do.  Any suggestions for a good compression?  Thanks.
