Realistic is always a very subjective thing.
I like the animated clouds already in C3,

but of course these just started in Carrara and I added some more
stuff in post work with Dogwaffle, it like rain, lightning, highlights
for hidden lightning behind clouds,...
You may or may not be able to do exactly what you want in a single tool.
